It's good, but it could have been a lot better. These new Special Stages come packed with even more difficult routes in Encore Mode. but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a tiny bit disappointed in it. The best part about Sonic Mania Plus is definitely the return of the Special Stages. It's a fun little extra addon for those who have already beaten the main game and at the very least, I could play Mania Mode with Mighty and Ray, so I got something out of it. again, because of the levels having the same layouts as before, and having already completed Mania Mode 100% with all 5 characters, I was dangerously close to going into autopilot in places because outside of a different coat of paint, it didn't feel new enough. The official SonicManiaPlus digital manual places Encore Mode after Sonic. once I found a good combo (for me, it was Tails/Mighty). So: Sonic Mania (Mania Mode) -> Sonic Forces -> Sonic Mania (Encore Mode).
